Call For Papers

Hospital 4.0 is a hi-tech and spreading structure, connected at a distance with patients, wherever they are, and internally regulated by the principles of circular economy. The concept of Hospital 4.0 is the extension of the concept of Industry 4.0, which means the fourth industrial revolution, to the healthcare field spanning several fields, such as the cyber-physical systems, the Internet of Things (IoT), the artificial intelligence, the robotics, the cloud computing and the information security. With respect to the past/present, where all the hospital processes are carried out within the perimeter of the building, the hospital 4.0 becomes a hub that governs a dense and complex network of tangible and intangible relations with Smart Patients and Smart Healthcare System. For Smart Patients, we intend citizen-patients who purchase connected objects to monitor their health conditions to prevent and / or facilitate the process of assistance and care, while for Smart Healthcare System we refer to the health structures aiming to optimize resources and processes through better and shared organization of information, patients, clinical and administrative staff. Although there exist few attempts in this direction, such as the The Johns Hopkins Capacity Command Centre or the Intensive Ambulatory Care program, this topic has been growing and attracting more research issue in the last years. In this respect, this special track focuses on sharing recent advances in algorithms and applications in the field of Hospital 4.0, with particular reference to Smart Patients and to Smart Healthcare. The topics of interest will include but will be not limited to:
  • Clinical Decision Support Systems
  • Healthcare Cybersecurity
  • Smart, wireless, wearable sensors in Healthcare
  • Robotics and artificial intelligence in Healthcare
  • Technology in the service of Healthcare management
  • Data analytics
  • Digital support for personalized medicine
  • Ethics of Hospital 4.0
