Call For Papers


Hospital 4.0 is a hi-tech spreading structure, connected at a distance with patients, wherever they are, and internally regulated by the principles of circular economy. The term “Hospital 4.0” has been introduced inspired to Industry 4.0, i.e. a well-known industrial concept leveraging personalization and virtualization across different industrial domains. At its core strategy, it empowers industries to evolve from manufacturers to service providers, allowing growing amounts of personalization as a service to client. Similarly, in the health domain, Hospital 4.0 extends the concept of Industry 4.0 in a scenario where patients and healthcare professionals are strictly correlated with the organization, the methodology and the technology. Indeed, the ongoing 4th industrial revolution has been impacting the healthcare, spanning several fields, such as the bioinformatics, the healthcare informatics, the cyber-physical systems, the Internet of Things (IoT), the artificial intelligence, the robotics, the cloud computing and the information security, to cite a few.
The innovative challenge for the forthcoming years is to make the hospital organization an integrated center able to provide the patient with a personal care service, involving the patient as an active subject. This also open the chance to link Hospital 4.0 with precision medicine, which aims at identifying the genetic-, environmental- and lifestyle-based approaches effective for patient therapy.
Although there exist few attempts in this direction, the topic has been growing and attracting more researchers and industry practitioners in the last years. In this respect, this workshop aims at bringing together and discussing the recent advances in computation methods and applications of bioinformatics, biomedicine and health informatics in the field of Hospital 4.0, with particular reference to approaches fostering precision medicine.
The topics of interest will include but will be not limited to computational approaches for:
  • Computation methods for precision medicine
  • Smart, wireless, wearable sensors in Healthcare
  • Data analytics in Healthcare
  • Data mining and Machine learning algorithms for biomedical application
  • Deep Learning for Healthcare
  • Radiomics, genomics and radiogenomics
  • Bioinformatics models
  • Electronic health records mining
  • Medical signal processing
  • Clinical Decision Support Systems
