Recipients and access requirements

For admission to the Master's Degree Course in Biomedical Engineering, certain access requirements are required as indicated in the Call for Applications (merely by way of example: degree class of origin, credits acquired with exams in certain SSDs, etc.) that the candidate must document within the online application for participation in the competition.

Candidates who meet all of the following requirements can participate in the Merit Session:

  • undergraduates (first degree, excluding second qualifications) who obtain the qualification by 31/10/2025;
  • who have acquired at least 120 ECTS by 16 May 2025;
  • enrolled in the academic year 2022/2023 (ongoing);
  • with a weighted average equal to or greater than 27/30 as of May 16, 2025

Scholarships covering

The first four successful candidates in the ranking will each benefit from a scholarship equal to 50% of the single university contribution for the two-year course and a Path of Excellence that will allow them to carry out further training and research activities in the University laboratories, within the scope of the activities planned for the research doctorates already active.

Beneficiary students maintain the scholarship and the right to the Excellence Pathway in the second year if, by 31 October 2026, they have acquired at least 45 CFU and have achieved a weighted average of grades of at least 28/30.

In the event of forfeiture, revocation or renunciation by students awarded a scholarship within the first semester of the academic year 2025/2026, the benefit will be reassigned, by scrolling the ranking of the Merit Session, to the candidates enrolled in accordance with the provisions of the following article 5.

In the event of forfeiture, revocation or renunciation by students awarded a scholarship after the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year has passed, in the 2026/2027 academic year the residual amounts will be allocated to students who in the 2025/2026 academic year have achieved the requirements for maintenance, in order of weighted average. This procedure will be activated, if necessary, following a public notice on the University website.

Enrollment

PHASE I

Following the issue of the ranking relative to the Merit Session, the successful candidates proceed to enrollment-PHASE I within 5 (five) working days from the date of publication of the merit ranking (excluding Saturdays), by carrying out the actions indicated in the Competition Announcement and adhering to the "registration instructions" published above. Candidates awarded the scholarship, under penalty of forfeiture, must proceed to the formal acceptance of the benefit within 2 (two) working days from the date of publication of the merit ranking according to the methods that will be communicated to them by the University and, following acceptance, they are exempted from paying the single contribution by 50%.

PHASE II

Candidates who have completed PHASE I of the enrollment within the terms and with the methods described above, proceed to enrollment-PHASE II within 3 working days from the date of obtaining the degree, and in any case no later than 7 November 2025 (in the event that they graduated by 6 November) by carrying out the actions indicated in the Competition Notice and adhering to the “registration instructions” published above.
