Luca Borghi was born in Bologna on 18 July 1962.

He graduated in Philosophy of Science in 1987 at the Catholic University of Milan with a thesis on the body-mind problem.

He is Associate Professor of History of Medicine at the Departmental Faculty of Medicine and Surgery ofUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, where he directs the Research Unit in History of Science and Technology. He also teaches "History of Science and Technology" at the Departmental Faculty of Engineering of the same University.

He has promoted and is Main administrator of "Himetop - The History of Medicine Topographical Database" (http://himetop.net), an international web 2.0 project for the identification and enhancement of the material traces left by the history of medicine and related disciplines.

Prof. Giovanni Di Pino

Giovanni Di Pino was born in Catania in August 1979, spent his childhood in Veneto and adolescence at the foot of Etna, and in 1997 he moved to Rome to study. After various experiences in neuroscience laboratories in the States, in 2003, at the age of 23, he graduated in Medicine and Surgery, 110/110 honors and honorable mention, at the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome.

In 2010 he completed the PhD in Biomedical Engineering with honors and in 2015 the clinical specialization in Neurology.

Lorenzo Di Rienzo

Post-doc at the Center for Life Nano and Neuro Science of the Italian Institute of Technology since 2020. I work within the Nanotechnologies for Neuroscience research group coordinated by prof. Giancarlo Ruocco, where I carry out an activity aimed at the analysis and simulation of the structures of biological macromolecules. The findings of my research are directed to the development of predictive algorithms on aspects of biomedical relevance, such as protein engineering or the identification of binding sites of biological macromolecules, and have led to the publication of over 20 articles in international journals.
