Associate of Human Anatomy, he has been present at the Bio-Medico Campus as a lecturer since 2008 and is responsible for the Microscopic and Ultrastructural Anatomy Unit carrying out histomorphological and molecular research activities in the field of the study of organ fibrosis with particular interest in hepatic fibrosis, with a scientific production characterized by numerous experimental and review works published in the most important international journals in the sector.

Head of the Research Unit "Applied Bacteriological Sciences", with research activities in various fields of Clinical Microbiology mainly in the bacteriological field, such as molecular characterization of bacterial species, study of phenotypic and genotypic mechanisms of antibiotic resistance and virulence factors, comparative studies on bacteriological diagnostic methods, studies on rapid diagnostic tests for the identification of bacterial species and antibiotic sensitivity tests, in particular on rapid microbiological diagnostics of bloodstream infections, studies on antimicrobial stewardship to promote the correct use of antibiotics .
