Associate Professor of Gastroenterology at the Campus Biomedical University of Rome, where he is deputy director of the School of Specialization in Diseases of the Digestive System. Head of UOS Functional intestinal disorders and microbiota, carries out research in various fields of functional gastroenterological pathologies and intestinal microbiota, with the production of about 80 papers in journals with Impact factor.

Vittoria Locato
Associate professor

Vittoria Locato obtained from the University of Bari: degree in Biological Sciences cum laude (2003), master's degree in "Manager of the procurement and distribution processes of agri-food products" (2004) and the title of PhD in Physiology and Cellular Biotechnology (2008). In an international collaboration with Prof. Christine Foyer's group he worked for 6 months at the Rothamsted Research Institute, UK (2006-2007). He obtained a research grant (2008-2010) and was a researcher (2010-2018) at Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, where he is currently Associate Professor in Plant Physiology.

As of December 2022, he is the author of 42 publications reviewed in Scopus and WOS; H-index Scopus= 20.

Prof. Pierantonio Menna
Associate professor

Professor Menna received his Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from the G. d'Annunzio University School of Pharmacy of Chieti in 2000. He next spent post-doctoral training at the G. d'Annunzio University School of Medicine Center of Excellence in Aging Research (2001-2007), and at the Cancer Pharmacology Center-Mass Spectrometry Unit of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA (2004-2005). He received his post-doctoral research degree from the University of Chieti Department of Drug Sciences in 2005. He joined the Campus Bio-Medico University Hospital of Rome in 2007 and rose to the rank of Chief of Laboratory of Clinical Pharmacology in 2009. In 2015 he qualified in Clinical Pharmacology at La Sapienza University School of Medicine and Pharmacy of Rome. From June 2021 he is an Associate Professor of Pharmacology at Department of Science and Technology for Humans and the Environment, Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma. The research and clinical activities of Professor Menna are focused on pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and pharmacogenetics with a multidisciplinary approach that tends towards precision medicine. He authored over 60 PubMed-based articles, several book chapters, and communications to national and international meetsings.

Giovanni Mottini

Graduated in medicine and surgery, specialist in infectious diseases and with a university degree in public health and tropical medicine.

An expert in international cooperation, he has coordinated cooperation projects in various developing countries (Peru, Albania, Congo, Nicaragua, Cameroon, Uganda, Kenya and Madagascar) in the sector of public health and health education.

He is currently responsible for the international university cooperation projects ofUniversità Campus Bio-medico di Roma, aimed at professional training and bio-medical research aimed at solving the health problems of the populations of the South of the world.

Coordinates a Humanitarian Aid Course at the same university.

From June 2008 to June 2011 he was president of Harambee Africa International Onlus: an institution aimed at supporting educational projects in Africa and spreading a positive and proactive image of Africa through communication and awareness activities.

Currently President of the Scientific-Cultural Committee of the same institution.

Member of the Board of Directors of the NGO Institute for Development Cooperation (ICU).

He is editor of the book "Medical Humanities: human sciences in medicine", and author of essays on international cooperation and scientific articles listed in PubMed.

Luca Navarini
Assistant professor

Type A fixed-term researcher in Rheumatology, he is present at theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma since 2016, first as a research fellow and then as a researcher. He also works in the Complex Operational Unit of Immunorheumatology of the Campus Bio-Medico University Hospital Foundation, carries out research in various areas of systemic autoimmunity and inflammatory arthritis, with a scientific production of around 100 works published in journals with impact factor.

Prof. Claudio Pedone

Born in Foggia on November 9, 1969. In 1988 I enrolled in the degree course in Medicine and Surgery at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome, where I graduated in 1994 with the vote of 110/110 cum laude. In the same year I was admitted to the School of Specialization in Medicine and Surgery of the same University directed by Professor P. Carbonin. In 1996 I entered the PhD program in Preventive Medicine in the Geriatric Age of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, where I obtained the title of PhD in 2000. In 1999 I was admitted as a Graduate Student in the Master's program in Public Health of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, USA, where I graduated in 2001. In the same period I worked as Research Assistant at the Center for Gerontology and Health Care Research of the Department of Public Health of the Brown University School of Medicine. In 2001 I also concluded my specialization course with the vote of 50/50 cum laude.

In 2001 I was hired as a II level medical director at the "A. Gemelli" University Hospital in Rome, where I worked in the Acute Care Department of the Center for Aging Medicine. In 2005 I moved to the Campus Biomedico University Hospital, where I served in the Acute Care Department of Geriatrics and in various services (outpatient clinic, DeXA, tilt-test).

Parallel to the clinical activity I carried out research in the epidemiology field, in the first period focusing on pharmacoepidemiology in the elderly patient, to later dedicate myself to studies on the tools for assessing the state of health in the elderly patient, especially on patients suffering from pathologies respiratory.

Emanuela Salvatorelli
Associate professor

Associate Professor of Pharmacology, he is present at theuniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma since 2007, where he holds the role of professor of Pharmacology and member of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Research Unit of the Departmental Faculty of Medicine and Surgery. His main lines of scientific research are oriented towards the characterization of the preclinical and clinical evaluation of anticancer drugs, with particular interest in pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and cardiovascular tolerability. His scientific activity is aimed at the optimization of translational models of cardio-oncology based on preclinical simulations of cardiac exposure to pharmacokinetic concentrations of anti-tumor drugs. She is the author of 56 scientific articles in journals with impact factor, 5 book chapters and several communications at national and international conferences.
