It is established at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, in agreement with theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma ", the II level Interuniversity Master in "Psychobiology of nutrition and eating behavior" with the patronage of the National Institute for Welfare and Assistance for Biologists (ENPAB) and the National Institute for Welfare and Assistance for Psychologists (ENPAP ).

The Master will conclude with the issue of a joint degree.

Recipients and access requirements

Admission qualification is the possession of master's degrees in: Human Nutrition Sciences (LM-61), Biological Sciences (LM-6), Biotechnology (LM-9), Psychology (LM-51), Medicine and Surgery (LM-41 ) or equivalent degrees.

Graduates (second level degrees or degrees under the old system) in other disciplines where the training curriculum or work experience are appropriate with respect to the aims of the course may also be admitted, subject to evaluation by the Master's teaching staff. The equivalence, solely for the purposes of enrollment in the Master's, of foreign qualifications will be decided by the Faculty Council on the proposal of the Master's Academic Board.

Enrollment in the Master's is incompatible with simultaneous enrollment in other university courses. 

Educational objectives

The objective of the Master is to train professionals with specific skills in nutrition and human nutrition in their physiological and psychological aspects that are in line with the new emerging needs and with the new areas of intervention suggested by the ministerial guidelines on eating disorders. The area of ​​human nutrition is very complex and is affected by biological, nutritional, psychic and social factors and their interactions, therefore the need for professional figures with high skills who, while maintaining specific roles and tasks, are able to interact with each other them in an integrated and coordinated way. The interaction between nutritionists, psychologists/psychotherapists, psychiatrists, medical specialists is of fundamental importance for establishing and maintaining the right relationship with food in order to obtain optimal psycho-physical well-being, which is by no means taken for granted in organization and management. The Master provides a training course focused on an integrated approach between these professional figures. Possible employment opportunities are: self-employed professional studies; institutions and private centers for the prevention of eating disorders and obesity; hospital wards where team work is required; associations and foundations whose activities are aimed at the prevention and maintenance of mental health and the promotion of proper nutrition.

The participation fee is €3.000 to be paid as follows:

  • €1.646,00 upon enrolment, by 19 February 2022 (including €16,00 for virtual revenue stamp and €130,00 for issuing the final parchment).
  • €1.500,00 by 19 May 2022

There is a 10% discount for all ENPAP and ENPAB members.
