The Doctorate in Integrated Biomedical Sciences and Bioethics has four curricula:

Research Areas
The research of this PhD integrates the clinical fields of the various curricula, combining practice with a philosophical reflection that touches different fields (anthropology, ethics, aesthetics, epistemology, logic, biolaw, bioethics and history of science). The decision to combine different curricula with a clinical profile in a single Doctorate also derives from the fact that numerous mechanisms underlying the pathological processes that affect the different areas (Endocrinology, Osteo-Oncology and Gerontology) have common aspects and overlapping study techniques, facilitating therefore the integration of projects for the benefit of the doctoral student and scientific research.
Research Objectives
From the development of new models of understanding, evaluation and direction of scientific action, to purely clinical studies on drugs, pathological and pharmacological mechanisms, study of the aging of organs and systems, post-injury functional recovery and tissue regeneration. Another objective is to train professionals capable of designing, characterizing and controlling processes where the use of biocompatible materials is most required.
Expected occupational and professional opportunities
The Doctorate offers many professional opportunities starting from the social-health field, widely represented in the sectors of this doctorate. Since the doctorate is the privileged title for competitions for university researcher, there is the possibility for the future research doctor to participate in such competitions having probably accumulated qualifying scientific publications. This can happen for competitions in different disciplinary groupings given that there are many groupings included in this doctorate. Another area of professional outlet is that of the medical and non-medical researcher in the research laboratories of pharmaceutical and similar industries, as well as in structures where increasingly emerging problems relating to bioethics are addressed (foundations, non-profit associations, etc.). Finally, the study experience also gained with professors of foreign universities present in the teaching staff represents another qualifying aspect for greater competitiveness in the search for a professional outlet.

Seminars
The Doctoral School in Integrative Biomedical Sciences and Bioethics has scheduled group seminars for training purposes for the 2014-2015 academic year. The meetings concern all those enrolled in the various curricula of the course, in relation to cycles XXIX and XXX.
The Research Projects that the PhD students intend to carry out during their three-year course are presented, as well as in-depth scientific articles of interest from the four integrated areas and updates on projects already underway. At each meeting, the presentations of two doctoral students are presented. The seminars are compulsory for all PhD students and the members of the PhD course teaching staff also take part in them.
The meetings are held on Mondays, twice a month, starting from the month of January, from 14.00 to 15.00. A meeting reminder email is sent a week before the seminar, indicating the room where the meeting will take place.
