Research, training and development of advanced multidisciplinary skills are at the heart of the Framework Agreement signed between the Defence General Staff – Armed Forces and theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma.

The agreement was signed by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Luciano Portolano, and by the Rector of theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, Rocco Papalia, with the aim of strengthening dialogue and collaboration between the academic world and institutions, promoting joint initiatives in the fields of research, training, and innovation.

The agreement provides for the development of joint activities and the exchange of expertise between the Defence General Staff and the University, through teaching programs, internship opportunities, and training initiatives dedicated to students.

"This agreement confirms a shared vision based on investment in knowledge, research and training as strategic tools to strengthen the resilience, security and well-being of our community and the country.", has ofchiarato General Luciano Portolano.

The Rector Rocco Papalia he underlined the value of collaboration: "This is a significant step in strengthening a collaboration based on innovation, research and exchange of skills. The collaboration will be developed through concrete activities, such as teaching programs and internship opportunities, enhancing the relationship between the structures of the Defence General Staff and theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma".

Among the areas of collaboration, particular attention will be paid to sport, and specifically to Paralympic athletes of the Armed Forces. The goal is to promote projects and studies in the fields of nutrition and health, making the University's scientific and medical expertise available to support the well-being and training of athletes.

The signing ceremony was also attended by the CEO and General Manager of theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, Andrea Rossi, who highlighted the value of the initiative for the growth of the University: Our University grows thanks to initiatives like this. It's a collaboration involving our three departmental faculties and summer schools, with the aim of allowing young people to grow and develop in a context of academic excellence, while also sharing experiences and skills that enrich their personal and professional journeys.

Among the first implementing agreements already signed, particular attention is dedicated to support for the Defense Sports Group, with a specific focus on the Paralympic sector. The initiative aims to enhance individuals and promote inclusion through collaboration between the Armed Forces and universities.
