Recipients and access requirements
The Master envisages, among its visitors, the figure of learners, reserved for those in possession of the degree qualification of the old system, or Specialist or Magistral, and that of auditors, reserved for those who do not have said title provided they have a proven professional experience of at least 3 years.
The qualification must be possessed by the candidate admitted to attend the Master's by and no later than 10 June 2022. Students admitted to the Master's who, at the date of the selections referred to in the following paragraph, do not have said qualification , will be eligible for the Master's program itself as "students sub-condition to attendance" with possible attribution to the category of listeners if they have not obtained said qualification by the specified deadline of 10 June 2022.
For learners, enrollment in the Master's is incompatible with enrollment in other university study courses, namely: Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, Specialization course, Research Doctorate, active training internship (TFA) and other university Master's.

The Master is aimed at providing preparation at a systemic level and with a holistic vision on the subject of "corporate security" with reference to the many aspects that revolve around this theme.
In particular, the Master aims at providing the methodological tools and knowledge necessary for those who, in both the public and private sectors, must be able to understand security problems and consciously define, implement and manage systems, procedures and actions to be taken to prevent, counter and limit the various threats as well as manage any anomalous, alarm or crisis situations with the aim of minimizing the negative effects on users, the population and the company and favoring a rapid recovery of operating conditions.
The Master takes into consideration the security issues of critical infrastructures with the aim of developing in the student the skills necessary for the conception, development, implementation and management of strategies, processes and systems aimed at improving the robustness, protection and resilience of these systems with approaches and paradigms such as to manage the complexity of the scenario and the presence of interdependencies and interactions.
At the end of the Master the participants will be able to:7
- understand, characterize and quantify man-made (both accidental and malicious), natural and technological threats;
- define and implement a safety governance system based on a risk analysis and management process that integrates organisational, procedural and technological solutions;
- conceive and design an integrated security system capable of identifying, preventing and countering the various threats effectively, compliant with the regulations and in line with the results of the risk analysis;
- define and manage effective and efficient crisis management systems, including aspects connected with communication with the media and citizens, with the aim of improving resilience and service-continuity capacity;
- analyze security issues with an all-hazard vision capable of contemplating and reconciling both safety and security aspects considering both physical and cyber threats;
- understand the national and international legislation of the sector;
- interface with suppliers of security technologies and systems and/or the different end-users in order to understand the characteristics and potential of the security offer/request;
- understand and formulate security requirements relevant to the scenarios of interest;
- have an overview of the main existing technologies in the field of security and crisis management.
workFinal profile
The Master aims to train professionals capable of:
- carry out technical and socio-economic analyzes to highlight the phenomena of threat, vulnerability and risk for the system;
- identify technical-organizational solutions aimed at preventing and contrasting these phenomena;
- design, build, implement and manage integrated security systems.
The didactic plan of the Master meets the requirements of the regulations:
- UNI 10459:2015 standard which defines the requirements relating to the professional figure of the "Security Manager";
- Rule U63000160 on the Disaster Manager.
DescriptionDidactic structure and thematic areas
The II level Master in Homeland Security referred to in paragraph 1, confers 60 university credits (CFU) as required by Art. 7, paragraph 4 of Ministerial Decree 270/2004 and has a total duration of one academic year. The 60 credits, equal to 1.500 hours of training activities, are divided as follows:
- 44 credits of classroom teaching which includes lectures and individual study;
- 16 credits internship and final Project Work elaboration.
The 44 credits correspond to 1.100 hours of activity, of which:
- 400 dedicated to lectures, group and individual exercises, visits to industrial and sectoral realities (for a minimum of five full-day visits), participation in workshops organized both by the University and by partner institutions of the Master;
- 120 hours dedicated to drafting application projects assigned during the course of the teaching modules;
- 580 hours dedicated to personal study.
buildInternship
The purpose of the curricular internship is to complete the theoretical knowledge acquired during the Master with concrete operational experience to be carried out in one of the companies that support the Master, or in other structures operating in the "Homeland Security" sector.
320 hours of activity corresponding to 2 months are attributed to the curricular internship.
For those who are already employed by an institution or company, the curricular internship can be developed within the same with the development of a training project to be implemented in a sector related to "Homeland Security". There is no lump-sum refund for them.
The curricular internship phase concludes with the dissertation, in front of a specifically established Evaluation Commission, of the final Project Work elaborated during the curricular internship. The dissertation will be held on the final day of the Master.

- THEUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma provides:
- up to a maximum of 2 scholarships to fully cover the enrollment fee for an amount of € 7.600,00 (Master's share to be paid by the participant € 0,00), reserved for specialist or master's graduates for less than two years who are unemployed or unemployed;
- up to a maximum of 6 scholarships to partially cover the enrollment fee for an amount of € 3.800,00 (Master's share to be paid by the participant € 3.800,00, three thousand eight hundred/00 - or € 4.400,00, in the case of divided into two installments), reserved for natural persons with the exclusion of those who carry out their usual professional activity (VAT number holders). - THEUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma participates in INPS and other bodies' tenders for the awarding of scholarships to participants belonging to specific categories.
Title awarded
Students who complete the Master and are in compliance with administrative obligations will be awarded the title of "II level University Master in Homeland Security - systems, methods and tools for security and crisis management".
Those who attend the Master as auditors will not obtain the qualification and will be issued a certificate of attendance with profit.
European Qualification Framework (EQF)
With reference to the table of descriptors of the levels of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), defined in the Agreement between the State Conference - Regions and Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano of 20 December 2012, the II Level University Master in "Homeland Security" is adhering to the requirements required for the assignment of EQF Level 8.
