The Campus Bio-Medico has joined the campaign promoted by Rome Capital and Rome Mobility Services to encourage bicycle use within the municipality. 

Aimed at students, healthcare, academic, and administrative staff, the project provides a financial incentive per kilometer for all trips made by bicycle (traditional or pedal-assisted) within the Municipality of Rome—both for home-university/work trips and for leisure travel. 

To join the initiative you need to download the Wecity app and activate the campaign by entering the Unique Mission Code of your organization.

Incentive value* and limits 

  • Unit price: €0,30 / km 
  • Max Daily: €10,00 
  • Max Monthly: €30,00 
  • Minimum/Session: 1,00 Km 

*The incentive is calculated exclusively on bike rides within the Rome Capital area. The amounts accrued for each month will be credited directly to the participant's current account (Italian IBAN) the following month. 

Requirements to participate: 

  • Personal and Banking Information: be registered as an adult student UCBM or be dependent UCBM or Fondazione Policlinico; possession of a tax code; ownership of a current account with an Italian IBAN for the credit; active email address and mobile number; 
  • Technical Equipment: smartphone with GPS module with Android (v9.0 or later) or iOS (v15.0 or later) operating system; 
  • GPS Permissions: Permanently setting Wecity App GPS permissions on Always allow (access to the location even in the background and with the screen off); 
  • Means of Transport: use of a bicycle (traditional or pedal-assisted) compliant with the provisions of the Highway Code (Legislative Decree 285/1992), equipped with suitable lighting and acoustic signalling devices. 

How to join the Campaign 

  • Get the Mission Code of your organization;
  • Download or Update* the Wecity app: download the application from the official stores (Google Play Store or App Store); 
  • Set up your profile: provide the required consents, enter the Mission Code of your organization and complete the registration with your personal details and the Italian IBAN for credits; 
  • Pedal and monitor: Before leaving, check that the GPS is active and track your movements longer than 1 km. 

*ATTENTION: If the app is already on your device, you must update it to the latest version or reinstall it to join the project.
