Great success on Friday 6 December at the Lea Padovani theater for the event organized by the Municipality of Montalto di Castro, by the Institute Vincenzo Cardarelli and fromUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma. Present were the president of the municipal council Fabio Valentini, the councilor for culture Silvia Nardi, the councilor for public works Giovanni Corona and the general manager of Ucbm Andrea Rossi.

 

Montalto di Castro, 08 December 2019 - About 400 young students in search of their future filled the Lea Padovani theater in Montalto di Castro on Friday 6 December on the occasion of the event "#UCBM MEET MONTALTO & TARQUINIA”. To organize the morning of orientation and information theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma which, together with the Municipality of Montalto di Castro andInstitute Vincenzo Cardarelli of Tarquinia, have given local young people the opportunity to discover the training offer, now structured around 11 degree courses, and the many scholarships offered by the University of Rome.

A reality that ranges between the subjects they offer countless opportunities to enter the world of work such as Medicine and Surgery (also in English), Engineering (Biomedical, Industrial and Chemistry for Sustainable Development) and degree courses specialized in the food field such as Food and Human Nutrition Sciences (three-year and master's) and Sciences and food technologies and supply chain management which aims to train managers of food companies, very common in Tuscia. To complete the picture, degrees in great demand both in the public and private sectors such as those in Nursing, Physiotherapy and Medical Radiology Techniques for Imaging and Radiotherapy.

Also important are the possibilities offered in the year 2020-21 by the university's 115 scholarships for a investment that will be close to 600.000 euros. Added to these are the funds linked to the scholarships of the regional body for the right to education DiscoLazio and the discount for large families desired by theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, for a total intervention of over one million euros.

During the morning, thanks to the interventions of the university guidance specialists and the teachers of the Campus Bio-Medico, the students of the area were helped to discover the study paths closest to your inclinations and to get an idea of ​​what a university that looks to innovation and the future and believes in synergies between university and business can offer today.

"As a former student of the "Cardarelli" it was a great emotion to see some teachers who accompanied me in my training course together with the young students. I really appreciated the participation of the young people who, with great curiosity and attention, were able to make the most of a day dedicated to their future” said at the end of the event the general director of the Campus Bio-Medico University Andrea Rossi. "With this initiative we wanted to stimulate reflection in our young people on their study path and life in general. Integrated training has always been a theme dear to theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma which in the education of its students pursues the development of human capabilities at 360 degrees. We believe we have given these four hundred children an educational message of great human value and for this I thank the teachers and the municipality who made this day possible".

The Municipality of Montalto di Castro involved the hotel institute and acted as a link between the University and the territory, while the Cardarelli Institute, accepting the invitation of the general director of Ucbm Andrea Rossi, his former student, promoted the event by allowing all high school students to participate. 

The Councilor for Culture spoke on the stage of the Lea Padovani theatre Silvia Nardi, the Councilor for Public Works Giovanni Corona and the president of the municipal council Fabio Valentini who commented on the day thus: “It was a pleasure to host this event in our area. We involved our students in a special day in which we were able to help them imagine their future course of study. We are satisfied with this initiative because we believe it is time well spent and useful for their personal growth" said Valentini who spoke on behalf of the Administration.

The initiative aroused the appreciation of teachers and students who, at the end of the event, entertained themselves in the theater premises asking for explanations and receiving brochures and information materials from the University. Many of them will participate in the Open Day organized at their headquarters by the University (the appointment is for December 16 in Rome in via Alvaro del Portillo, 21 at 15 pm) to illustrate the laboratories, classrooms and encourage a meeting between students seniors and aspiring freshmen.

The Montalto event, in its first edition, will certainly be repeated in the future as well. Work is already being done in this direction, imagining a collaboration over time that can offer the young people of Montalto, Tarquinia and the whole province of Viterbo one more possibility to plan their future. “The speranza - he concluded Valentini - is that some of the young people who attended today can obtain solid training and perhaps return to this area after their studies to bring their study capital and professionalism acquired over the years to the area".
