A survey on eating habits conducted by a food science student begins

5 April 2019 - Making children protagonists in the choice of food and helping parents to correctly evaluate portions for a healthy diet from childhood. This is the innovation of Nutripiatto, the intelligent plate created by Nestlé with the scientific contribution of Ucbm professors of Degree Course in Food Sciences, in particular Manon Khazrai, Laura Dugo e Laura De Gara, and officially presented in Milan last October.

Now the Nutripiatto also arrives at the Ubcm Kindergarten. On Monday, April 8, 4 and 5 year olds will be involved by the educators in an interactive activity and will create a collage with images of the dishes. Immediately afterwards they will eat in the Nutripiatto which they will take home at the end of the day together with a guide for parents on how to best use it to meet the nutritional needs of children, also taking into account the different age groups.

The project will continue with a survey conducted by the student Chiara Spiezia before and after the use of the Nutripiatto, to evaluate the impact of this nutritional education tool on children's eating habits.

By 2020, the plan is to distribute 500.000 Nutripiatto kits, thus reaching almost 15% of families in Italy with children between the ages of 4 and 12.
