The general director Andrea Rossi outlines measures and investments for the reorganization of the University for the autumn recovery
"It's been weeks of uncertainty and worry and hard work, 7 days a week - this is how the Director General of the University comments on the lockdown Andrea Rossi. Fortunately, at a national level, the epidemiological data of this period are positive and this gives us a sense of trust and hope. I certainly felt, on a personal as well as professional level, a great void linked to the absence of students and the lack of those moments of discussion, dialogue, sharing and joy which represent the dominant feature of our University. I trust that the beginning of September represents a new season to return to living the University in all its dimensions: training, academic, research, but also of relationships and entertainment that characterizes the University years".
And precisely in view of phase 3 starting in September, "in recent months we have worked intensely to allow face-to-face academic and training activities to resume as much as possible: the lessons will start again and will follow a 'blended' formula, with over 70% face-to-face and the remainder supplemented by a modern, innovative and technological distance - explains the DGU - It is a choice that aims to underline the importance of interpersonal relationships, of physical presence in the University as an opportunity to build meaningful relationships both between students and with teachers. Chiaramind we are also preparing all the measures to guarantee the full safety of the students, in terms of prevention, communication, physical distancing, use of protective devices, sanitation and indication of routes and flows in the University.
Regarding the reception of students "in the week before the start of lessons, students will be able to undergo the seroprevalence survey for the research of the anti SARS-CoV-2 IgG proposed free of charge by the University. On this occasion we also want to explain to students the new ways of conducting inside the University and, again during the meeting, we will deliver the surgical masks necessary for the entire first semester of 2020 which will be made available by the University. A small gesture that wants to underline our commitment and our attention to each student".
The spaces and services of the University will be reorganised: "We have completely rescheduled the lesson timetable in order to distribute attendance 6 days out of 7 (from Monday to Saturday) and with extended hours. We have technologically upgraded all the classrooms, with important investments, in order to allow everyone to follow lessons synchronously. We have carried out works to increase the space available to students and allow the use of important services in complete safety, guaranteeing the necessary distance. We have taken the opportunity to enhance the environment, the greenery that we have available : for this reason we are creating new outdoor spaces with benches and gazebos for studying and socialising; we are enhancing the 'MyUCBM' with new features to improve the university experience, also from a digital point of view. Finally, I am pleased to mention the work that is starting on the construction of the new building entirely dedicated to teaching: it will be ready at the end of 2022, it will have new classrooms, a simulation center, a great hall and spaces for group study (meeting room ). It is an ambitious project that will take our University a big step forward and that we will be able to follow together in the coming months".
