An internship period and the release of training credits are also foreseen

December 11, 2018 - To prepare health professionals with a higher level of super-specialist training, providing skills that can be used immediately in identifying innovative solutions for the treatment of all blemishes in the mammary region. This is the objective of the first Specialization Course in Advanced Techniques of Aesthetic Surgery of the Breast, proposed byUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma in collaboration with SICPRE (Italian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Reconstructive Surgery) e AICPE (Italian Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery).

The course, which will start in March 2019, will allow you to:

  • deepen the knowledge of pathophysiology, surgical anatomy and operative medicine aimed at the aesthetic improvement of the breast through surgical techniques
  • acquire practical experience necessary for a clinical evaluation of a patient, defining its typology on the basis of knowledge of clinical pathology, pathological anatomy, surgical physiology, clinical methodology
  • acquire the best practices regarding cosmetic surgery of the breast area, in-depth knowledge of prosthetic materials and their bio-compatibility, treatment and prevention of complications
  • improve theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of cosmetic breast surgery through the use of new biomaterials and tissue engineering products with adult and stem cells
  • deepen your knowledge of the medico-legal aspects related to your profession and the laws and regulations that govern health care.

The course also includes a period of internship that involves participation in interventions performed partly at the Campus Bio-Medico University Hospital and partly at affiliated private facilities. 

Each trainee will be followed and coordinated by a clinical mentor assigned by the Scientific Directorate. 

Among the other pluses of the course, also the presence of a dedicated educational manager who follows the class during each lesson, manages the online platform and the flow of information between teachers and students.

The course modules will be accredited Ecm and will therefore allow participants to achieve the compulsory credits.
