Maddaloni and Palermo awarded by the Endocrine Society

October 6, 2017 - Twelve international awards reserved for as many researchers under the age of 40 who have distinguished themselves for their curriculum and originality of their line of research in the fields of Endocrinology and Diabetology. Two of these, in 2017, were assigned toUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma laid down by the Endocrine Society, the oldest and largest endocrinological scientific society in the world.
 
They are Ernesto Maddaloni e Andrea Palermo, both doctors of the UOC of Endocrinology and Diabetology, the two researchers UCBM awarded the Early Investigators Award. The first for merits in diabetes research, the second instead in the field of calcium phosphorus metabolism and bone fragility. An excellent result that will see them protagonists during ENDO 2018, the 100th Annual Meeting & Expo of the Endocrine Society scheduled in Chicago from 17 to 20 March 2018.
 
In the meantime, Palermo had already flown to the United States on 10 September to receive a further award in Denver as Young Investigator, this time assigned to him by ASBMR, a company for the study of bone and mineral metabolism which includes doctors from various disciplines and who are concerned with studying this specific topic.
 
More recently, however, the other prize awarded to Maddaloni, a European Grant that has brought him closer UCBM and the University of Oxford in diabetes research. The doctor was selected by the European Association for the Study of Diabetes together with four other young researchers. The funded project will last three years and will be carried out at the Diabetes Trial Unit of the historic English university, one of the most prestigious centers for diabetes research in the world.
