100 places available at the Higher Education School on Food Safety
8th November 2015 - "I am writing to you because I would like ringthank you and the information system of our University dedicated to job opportunities and post-graduate courses." Thus begins the letter that Francesca Mazzanti, graduate UCBM, he wanted to send to the teacher Laura De Gara and at the University. "Last May - he explains in the text - I received the notification about the competition notice for admission to the 'Food Safety Specialization Course', intended for 100 young people from all regions of Italy and from various countries in developing". The course was entirely funded by the Italian Pavilion - Expo Milano 2015 and promoted, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies, by the nascent Higher Education School on Food Safety created by the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, the University of Studies in Milan and by the Ministry of Health.
Francesca adhered to the competition notice, and was selected for the Lazio region. "The multi and interdisciplinary course - he says - enriched my knowledge of food safety, dealing with the scientific aspects of biological and chemical risks, risk management and communication skills with the presentation of case studies, knowledge of international system and the economic and legislative aspects that regulate the agri-food system. It is increasingly evident how the issue of nutrition is closely linked to food education, to risk assessment starting from the consumer's lifestyle. it is evident how the choice of development strategies to improve the quality of nutrition is an integral part of international economic policies. It was particularly significant for me to address the issue of food safety in a framework of various professional figures: in addition to the nutritionist biologist, there were veterinarians, zootechnicians, toxicologists, economists and jurists.
"Thanks to this extremely positive experience - continues Dr. Mazzanti - I expanded my professional projects. In particular, the deepening of issues related to food safety issues in the national and international context has strengthened my intention to participate in competitions in the field of Food Security and Food Safety".
