Two thesis projects UCBM sustainability theme for an overseas university meeting
Daniel Giampa, recent graduate of Industrial Engineering e Natalia Cintorino, recent graduate of Food and Human Nutrition Sciences dell 'Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, were selected for the quality of their works to take part in the international conference held inArizona State University, in the context of Grand Challenges Scholars Program (GCSP).
The GCSP is a course aimed at students from all over the world, focused on the potential of science and technology for the protection of the planet. The same themes carried forward and promoted by World Earth Day (April 22).
Daniele's degree thesis concerns, in fact, lo development of a seawater distillation plant using solar thermal energy, while Natalia performed one study on algae as a sustainable and alternative source of protein. Two important projects, with concrete effects on society, which led them to take part in three days of activities, panels, workshops and tours with teachers and students from all over the world.
L'Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma it is one of the three Italian universities that offer their students the opportunity to participate in the GCSP, which includes the most prestigious American and world universities, such as MIT for example.
