For students, the rescue simulation with the Guardia di Finanza
6 July 2019 - Last July 5, the students of the Master in Homeland Security visited the Military Airport of Pratica di Mare, guests of the Guardia di Finanza. On the occasion, General Joselito Minuto, commander of the Aviation Center, accompanied the class of the eleventh edition of the master illustrating the activities and aircraft of the Guardia di Finanza.
After an interesting visit to the Aviation History Museum where helicopters and decommissioned planes are kept in excellent condition, some dating back to the end of the Second World War, the students had the opportunity to watch a helicopter rescue exercise. Military experts simulated the arrival of the rescue helicopter at a site where an injured person was present and unable to move. To recover the wounded man, two soldiers lowered themselves from the moving helicopter using a winch and, after having secured the body on the stretcher, hoisted it onto the vehicle.
For the students it was a unique experience which also left a widespread feeling of admiration for people who spend their activities for the protection and safety of citizens with enthusiasm, passion and professionalism.
