Rome, October 10 2018 The Campus Bio-Medico University From Rome (UCBM) and IBM Italy announced today that they have signed a cooperation agreement to support innovation and the growth of digital skills in the field Healthcare e Life Science.
Care for the elderly and chronic patients is fast becoming one of the most pressing healthcare challenges of our age. Recent studies indicate that between 2015 and 2030 the number of people in the world who will be over 60 is expected to grow by 56%, from around 900 million to almost 1,5 billion. By 2050, the global population of those over 2 will reach billion. Italy is one of the "oldest" countries in the world, hence the importance of preparing professional figures capable of managing what appears to be an inevitable necessity for the well-being of the population (Source: Forbes da World Population Aging Report 2015 of a).

Furthermore, students and researchers will have the opportunity, thanks to the IBM Cloud, to use IBM Cogn technologyitive and test the potency of artificial intelligence applications in all phases of health care (from the discovery of new treatments to the daily care of chronic patients).
Students and researchers can be assigned in one of the IBM research laboratories in the world and be involved in research projects focusing on personalized and precision medicine.
