Rome, 11 September 2024 - What constitutes excellence in nursing today, and how can more specialized interdisciplinary training revitalize a profession that's crucial to the proper functioning of the National Health System? This is the topic that will be addressed. Thursday, September 12th, from 9.00:12.15 am to : pm in Rome at the 'Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma in the symposium “EXCELLENCE AND INNOVATION IN NURSING EDUCATION”The appointment, launch event of the new Master's Degree in Nursing and Midwifery Sciences, will highlight the opportunities offered by the training offer of theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, will open a forum for discussion among leading figures from the academic, healthcare, and institutional worlds and intends to encourage young students to confidently embark on a nursing career, recognizing its value in the clinical and care context and its significant impact on society.   

After the introductory greetings, the day will open with a round table moderated by Bruno Cavaliere, President of the Italian Society for the Direction and Management of Nursing Professions (SIDMI) entitled "Innovation in Nursing Education and Opportunities in Healthcare". The most significant experiences will be explored and the frontiers of the profession will be illustrated. Participants will include: Luigi Baldini, President of the National Institute for Social Security and Welfare of the Nursing Profession (ENPAPI); President of the National Federation of Nursing Professions (FNOPI) Barbara Mangiacavalli; the professor Francesco Saverio Mennini, Head of the Department of Programming, Medical Devices, Drugs and Policies for the National Health System of the Ministry of Health; Enrico Montaperto, Director of Office VI of the General Directorate for Higher Education and the Right to Education at the Ministry of University and Research; Professor Vincenzo Di Lazzaro, Dean of the Departmental Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma; the senator Paula Binetti, professor of History of Medicine; the professor Rosaria Alvaro, president of the Italian Society of Nursing Sciences, University of Rome Tor Vergata; Professor Alvisa Palese, President of the Permanent Conference of Undergraduate and Master's Degree Courses in Healthcare Professions, University of Udine. 

Immediately after it will be the turn of the story of successful experiences thanks to a table full of exceptional witnesses: Maurice Zega, president of the Center of Excellence for Nursing Culture and Research (CECRI) and president of the Order of Nursing Professions of Rome (OPI Rome); Hercules Vellone Associate Professor of Nursing Sciences, University of Rome Tor Vergata; Alberto Dal Molin, President of the Degree Course in Nursing, University of Piemonte Oriental; Blue Massimi, researcher at the Department of Public Health and Infectious Diseases, Sapienza University of Rome.    

The following will follow awards to young professionals who have made significant contributions to the nursing profession with their direct testimonies. The conclusions are entrusted to the professor Maria Grazia De Marinis, president of the Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and the Master's Degree in Nursing and Midwifery Sciences of theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma.
