The Smart System course in the laboratories of the Fabriano Tech Center
A bridge between University and business, with training that brings students fromUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma directly inside the Whirlpool plant in Melano (AN). Today the plant is a hub for EMEA hobs (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and, with over 1000 workers, is one of the most important companies in the Marches and can boast cutting-edge technologies in terms of production and environmental sustainability.
In particular, the students of the Smart System course, second year of Master's degree in IngIntelligent Systems engineering UCBM, were able to learn in detail the more practical aspects connected to the development part but also all the attention reserved for overcoming all safety standards in the workplace. "A unique opportunity to introduce our undergraduates to the development part of software platforms related to process automation, as well as all aspects related to work optimization and ergonomics, where all spaces and equipment are designed in relation to the impact on the worker - said the teacher. Roberto Setola, Ordinary Automatic – During the visit, the students were able to see how the theoretical knowledge acquired during the Smart System teaching finds immediate application in the development of modern cyber-physical systems".
"The visit began in the Fabriano Tech Center laboratories and continued at the Melano firing plant where I was able to learn about the plant's automatic, performative and innovative processes. - he told Francis Carpineti, second year student of IngIntelligent Systems Engineering - For the first time I also witnessed team work on the company's production plant, an extremely innovative plant in theingengineering 4.0, where automation comes into contact with the various professionals involved in the process. A real assembly line that requires maximum concentration and collaboration, as well as in-depth study of various specific skills."
