Internet of Things: From thermostats to clocks, passing through numerous types of sensors and detectors (brightness, humidity, environment and territory), the technology that makes devices interconnected pervades everyday life and promises giant leaps. The evolution of the use of the net is making things endowed with their own intelligence, capable of transmitting data and receiving information. The sectors smart home e smart city are currently the most consolidated, for example through video surveillance and security applications used in homes, home automation systems and traffic monitoring in large cities. But the IoT also finds its way into the manufacturing, automotive and biomedical industries, not to mention the field of robotics.

Starting from the a./y. 2016/2017 the new course is active within the e-health path of the Master's Degree Course in Biomedical Engineering

August 26, 2016 - An increasingly widespread phenomenon which also in Italy is affecting various fields of experimentation. But what is meant by the Internet of Things? It has existed long before it was defined in this way and crosses our daily lives more than we imagine, precisely because it concerns the whole world of real objects connected to the Internet.

This is why theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma has included the IoT System Design teaching within the e-health curriculum of the Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering. Characterized by a teaching by doing approach, in which students are mainly engaged in laboratory design activities, the course aims to train engineers capable of designing and developing devices, sensors and systems, distributed and interconnected via the internet. A proposal supported by the University's research activity, which boasts important scientific results in reference application fields such as biometrics, telemedicine and food production monitoring.
