The experience of the resident UCBM in the University Hospital

“With everyone's commitment: professors, students, non-teaching staff [...] I recommend that you work in a spirit of unity and understanding, with optimism; in this way you will overcome obstacles with God's help, you will be happy and - what is even more important - you will sanctify yourself and you will help others to sanctify themselves because you will be practicing the commandment of love”.

We can still hear the echo of the message of Blessed Álvaro del Portillo, pronounced in 1993 at the inauguration ceremony of the first academic year of theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma: indications and words that for twenty-six years - on the threshold of the XXVII Inauguration - have been a daily source of inspiration for the many professionals who work within the University.

“Now, having almost reached the end of the first year of specialization, I try to make them mine and apply them in everyday work, in the relationship with patients and colleagues – says Laura Messina, a specialist in Diagnostic Imaging -. The patient needs the attention, knowledge and skills of every professional figure in our Polyclinic. The spirit of collaboration is increasingly precious: one must make one's skills and resources available exclusively for the good of the patient, trying to improve together more and more every day".

The new residents of the school will be welcomed on 5, 6 and 7 November.Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma with a program dedicated to them: a full immersion to get to know the organization of the work and the various services of the Polyclinic, as well as the international standards of the Joint Commission International as well as the inspiring values of the University, with a space dedicated to the presentation of the Prelature of Opus Dei.
