The II Level Joint Master's Degree in Applied nutrition, food safety and quality - V edition is promoted jointly by the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome, the University of Roma Tre, the University of Tuscia and the University of Rome Tor Vergata, with the National Order of Biologists (ONB).
Recipients and access requirements
Requirements for the admission to the Master:
Five-year/Specialist/Master's Degree in Nutritional Sciences (LM-61) or Biology (LM-6);
Graduates in other disciplines may also be admitted, subject to evaluation by the Master's Scientific Committee, where the training curriculum or work experience are congruous with respect to the aims of the course.
It will be possible to participate in the Master also as undergraduates as long as the degree is obtained by 13 June 2022.

The Master has the following specific training objectives:
- basic knowledge in chemistry, biochemistry and food microbiology
- knowledge of technologies for the evaluation of food safety, quality and nutritional aspects
- advanced knowledge in the field of nutritional security and food safety applied to mass catering
- advanced knowledge in terms of Quality and Product Certification in agri-food companies, marketing and economics of food products
- knowledge of the legislation and international and European standards for the management of hygiene, safety and quality and nutritional characteristics of foods, as part of a management system for continuous performance improvement
- advanced knowledge of human nutrition in physiological conditions, in established pathophysiological conditions
- advanced knowledge to apply the methods of evaluation of the state of nutrition and the determination of optimal individual diets and for collective catering.

The professional figure trained by the Master, in accordance with current legislation, can be placed in:
- agri-food companies
- collective catering companies
- freelance activity
- companies and bodies in the health sector - private and public, according to current regulations (hospitals, local health authorities, nursing homes, experimental zooprophylactic institutes, etc.).
DescriptionDidactic structure and thematic areas
The Master is structured in 4 six-month thematic areas which include integrated forms of theoretical activities, individual learning and field experiences:
- Nutrition
- Collective catering
- Food safety
- Quality and safety
buildInternship
The internship will take place in leading companies in the agro-food sector, collective catering, consortia and associations. The internship has a total duration of 650 hours and will start from the middle of the educational path.
In the event of refusal of the internship proposal provided by the University, it will be the participant's responsibility to identify the company willing to welcome him on an internship.
DescriptionMethod of admission
The application for admission to the Master must be submitted by 15 February 2022 using the online procedure available at the following internet address: www.unicampus.it/ucbmacademy.
It requires the inclusion of the following information:
personal data and contact details;
information relating to the qualification;
CV
identity card;
self-declaration in lieu of a certification;
details of the successful transfer of the admission fee (€50).
The selection will be made through curricular evaluation and oral interviews which will take place on 22 February 2022. The result of the selections will be communicated to the candidates by email by theUCBM Academy
Having read the admission, enrollment in the Master's must be done by 7 March 2022.
Participation fee:
The enrollment fee for the entire Master is €4.800 to be divided into 4 installments:
€1.200 upon enrollment (March 7, 2022)
€1.200 by 30 August 2022
€1.200 by 31 December 2022
€1.200 by 31 March 2023
Specify the reason for each payment. In no event will the fees be refunded.

Reduced rates are provided in the following cases:
for candidates who have obtained the degree required for participation in the Master's at one of the partner universities. The amount of each installment is, in this case, €1.000,00 instead of €1.200,00;
for candidates indicated by partner companies of the Master and/or belonging to the CUI – Committee UCBM Companies there is a reduction of 16,5% on participation fees.
Titles released
Participants who complete the Master's and are in compliance with the administrative aspects will be awarded the title of II Level Joint Master's Degree in Applied Nutrition, Food Safety and Quality.
The university qualification will be issued to those who, by not enrolling in the Master, will participate in specific thematic areas of the same, in detail:
- The title of university specialization in nutrition and collective catering will be issued to those who will follow the thematic areas "Nutrition" and "collective catering" with the consequent recognition of 25 credits.
- The title of University Specialization in Food Safety and Quality will be issued to those who will follow the thematic areas "Food Safety" and "Quality and Safety" with the consequent recognition of 25 credits.
