The technology grows but the threats grow too

04 February 2022 - The "New criminal threats" conference organized by theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma which saw several security experts discuss the topic. Guests of the event Prefect Vittorio Rizzi, Deputy Chief of the State Police e Nunzia Ciardi, Deputy Director of the National Cybersecurity Agency (ACN). 

"In today's working table we analyzed the theme of the threat. In fact, this is closely linked to a technological factor and the technological factor in turn is the engine of globalization. All this leads to changes of a social nature and therefore to an overall transformation of relationships, of society”, explained the Prefect Vittorio Rizzi. The ACN, on the other hand, has launched an alarm message to the country and in particular to the political institutions and critical infrastructures of Italy on the security side to clarify its multiple aspects. "Total security does not exist in the digital world, but sufficiently good security can be achieved if you work professionally", said Nunzia Ciardi. 

All round table, inserted inside the closure of the Master in Homeland Security UCBM, also took part Anna Maria Giannini, professor of General Psychology at the Sapienza University of Rome, Maurizio Vallone, Director of DIA, and Pier Luigi Martusciello, Head of Corporate Security Bnl-Bnp Paribas and Member of the OSSIF Board of Directors and AIPSA member. "Technology is growing and offers us so many possibilities to do things that were unthinkable a few years ago. However, technology can also be used by people with different purposes to create damage. What we want to teach the Master in Homeland Security, joint now in its 14th edition, is to make people understand what the skills and knowledge of those who have to manage security in the public but also in private companies must be" stated the teacher.
