The training courses will start in November

August 19, 2019 - Palliative care and pain therapy centers require an interdisciplinary and multiprofessional clinical approach centered on the needs of the patient and his family. To address the complexity and changeability of care needs, the figures involved in the care process must possess constantly updated specific skills and transversal skills, as well as strong teamwork skills.

To respond to these professional needs, theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma will activate the new editions of the Master in the 2019/2020 academic year Higher training and qualification in palliative care for specialist doctors (II edition) and of the Joint Master's in Palliative care and pain management for the health professions (IV edition).

Doctors and healthcare professionals will have the opportunity to interact and discuss transversal issues thanks to innovative teaching methods, such as:

  • il theater workshop, during which the participants will acquire the ability to welcome the patient in its entirety and uniqueness by working on empathy, communication and crisis management through active teaching;
  • il mindfulness workshop, through which the participants will be able to enrich themselves with a greater awareness of themselves and of their perceptions by relating them to the patient's experience, in order to acquire greater attention to his reality;
  • la PBL - Problem Based Learning, a didactic methodology characterized by strong interactivity and based on the active involvement of the participants, in the resolution of a clinical case, allowing a connection between theoretical-cognitive learning (knowing that) and technical-operative learning (knowing how).

The two masters will reproduce, right from the training phase, the same working reality that should be the fulcrum of the activity in every care facility that deals with palliative care and pain therapy.
