Maria Vittoria Di Loreto, SANUM graduate in 2020, left for the workcamp in Tanzania

"I had access to the volunteering experience in Tanzania thanks to the collaboration of the University with Golfini Rossi Onlus which has been operating in this area for years. There are several reasons that prompted me to leave, first of all the desire to want to help others and get to know a culture different from ours. I expected a complex context in which to operate, and in fact once I arrived there I realized how difficult the situation is and requires a strong spirit of adaptation. We operated in different contexts: dispensary, schools, hospitals... It's an experience that I recommend: you receive much more than you are able to give. You come back enriched by a new, different awareness, a sense of gratitude to life that the local people are able to convey. Certainly it will make you change your view of the world once you get back to everyday life."
