Elena Levati - Graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 2021, she participated in the workcamp in Peru, in San Vicente de Cañete (Lima), for two consecutive years
The workcamp experience in Peru, in the Lima region, takes place in close collaboration with two organizations that cooperate at the local level throughout the year, Caritas and Condoray. Every day, with buses, we went to neighboring countries to carry out our voluntary work in the medical field. The medical campaigns (about 60 a day) were held in the squares of the largest cities, in schools and in some structures identified by the two associations Caritas and Condoray. There were people who waited for a whole year for volunteers to return from Italy to receive a physical examination by a doctor. It was an enriching experience in which I put into practice concepts learned on a theoretical level. I "stole" the little suggestions from the professors and specialist doctors who accompanied us throughout the experience.
