Registrations are still open for the two I and II level masters

October 8, 2019 - “Tackling issues related to palliative care means focusing on two fundamental aspects of assistance: on the one hand, the complexity of the problems of the patient and his family; on the other, the inter-professionalism in which the operators find themselves operating". The teacher says so Maria Grazia De Marinis, Vice-President of the Presidential Committee of the Permanent Conference of Directors of Masters in Palliative Care and Pain Therapy.

L'Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma responds to this training need with two Master's degrees dedicated to Palliative Care aimed at doctors and all players in the healthcare professions:

Professor De Marinis tells us again: "specific training in palliative care is necessary to develop transversal skills characterized not only by theoretical knowledge but above all by attitudes of care, capable of taking charge of the patient globally e of his illness experience within a specific context of affective and relational life".

The two Masters are different entities but a part of the lessons and educational projects will be shared between the two groups, so that doctors and health professionals cooperate together right from the classroom learning. "Through innovative teaching methodologies, the Master will allow participants to promote the search for new organizational and assistance methods remodeled from time to time, around the multiple needs of the patient and the family and, at the same time, aimed at a strong integration between professionals aimed at common goals. In fact, each participant will bring with him a vision of care open to the contribution of other professions thanks to experiences of training for interdisciplinary work understood as a process through which different professionals identify the various aspects of a problem, constructively explore their differences and seek solutions that go beyond their personal vision of what is possible".

The objective of the Master is therefore to train professionals capable of optimizing the methods of interaction and dialogue within the palliative care network, guaranteeing continuity of care as well as of relationships and information, with the mission of protecting and safeguarding the dignity of sick person, throughout the treatment and assistance process.
