Welcoming, safe and technological to serve the city

July 9, 2021 - On July 12, the Department of Emergency and Admissions of the Campus Bio-Medico University Hospital, after the temporary suspension due to the request of the Lazio Region to dedicate beds to Covid-19 patients. Even before its opening, on 1 September 2020, the spaces of the Emergency Room-Dea had been set up to host the Campus Covid Center from April to June, during the first phase of the pandemic. The epidemiological trend after last summer had given hope for a drop in infections, but when the curve rose again at the end of October, the activity of the Emergency Department was suspended and the spaces were once again converted into Campus Covid center.
A fluctuating path for the Campus Bio-Medico University Hospital which has always worked in concert with the Lazio Region to respond to the priority health and assistance needs of citizens. The DEA is spread over 2100 square meters and is built according to the most up-to-date organisational, technological and triage models. Welcoming, safe and equipped with the most recent technologies, it covers a potential catchment area of around 300 residents for an estimated 45 accesses per year. The structure is also included in the time-dependent networks of the Lazio Region to ensure timely treatment for all pathologies and, in particular, for acute cerebro-vascular diseases (stroke), acute vascular diseases (aneurysms), acute heart diseases (heart attacks), as well as for all cases of traumatology and acute surgical pathologies. Among the elements characterizing the organization of patient flow by severity level, attention to patient privacy and comfort, the safety path to reduce the risk of contagion from Covid-19.
