Support for a research doctorate dedicated to man and the environment 3 years after his death

July 5, 2020 - Biomedical University Foundation, foundation ofUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, together with the TIM Foundation to remember Joaquín Navarro-Valls with a scholarship - a research doctorate - dedicated to man and the environment with a particular focus on the fight against Covid-19. A new project that wants to celebrate the figure of the well-known San spokesperson Giovanni Paul II who, after participating in the preliminary study phase of the Campus Bio-Medico Foundation in Rome, was the first President of the Committee of Trustees (from June 2015 to the day of his disappearance, 5 July 2017), as well as the first President of the TIM Foundation, starting from 2009.

The PhD in Science and Engineering for Man and the Environment/Science and Engineering for Humans and Environment intends to study and develop a new model of healthcare 4.0 which, through information and communication technologies (ICT, Information and Communication Technologies) can improve the prevention and treatment process for patients affected by complex chronic conditions (CCC, complex chronic conditions), with particular reference to people affected by the Sars-Cov-2 virus and related respiratory diseases.

The PhD in Science and Engineering for Man and the Environment will be able to:

  • Develop innovative methods, tools and systems to promote people's health, well-being and safety, also through the care of the environment in which they live, based on the most recent research results;
  • Describe, plan, coordinate and implement a multidisciplinary research program interacting with different technical and scientific expertise;
  • Integrate training in the biomedical field with mathematical and technological knowledge capable of dealing with the growing complexity of research in the "bio" field.

The call for applications for the research doctorate, one of the three-year scholarships of which is funded by the Tim Foundation and the Biomedical University Foundation, will be published in the Official Gazette on next 10 July.
