The excellence of robotics in Rome: the initiative of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale in collaboration with theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma

28 March, 2018 - This year will be theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma to welcome the 12th edition of the multi-event Romecup 2018, conceived, promoted and organized by Fondazione Mondo Digitale in collaboration with UCBM and with the participation of the Roman universities Wisdom e Tor Vergata , High school Sant'Anna of Pisa.

Literally, dozens of "dancing robots", already winners of the Guinness Book of Records, will open the dance in a performance organized by Tim, in the foyer of the Aula Magna. To follow, an international conference on the future of biorobotics will see the intervention of some of the leading experts in the world: from Oussama Khatib of Stanford University a Robert Riener of the Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule in Zurich, via Nitish V. Thakor of the National University of Singapore maximum Mariachiara Carrozza, professor of industrial bioengineering at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in Pisa. "Imitating nature for the progress of science and technology in automation" is the central theme that will be addressed by scholars by kicking off a two-day event - that of 16 and 17 April in the spaces UCBM – full of workshops, interactive thematic talks and creative contests on the applications of robotics in rehabilitation, assistance and agriculture.

In fact, university and high school students already involved in the creative contests launched there will be present last November as well as hundreds of kids from all over Italy who will be able to participate in further competitions. Culmination of the races will be the final stages and the award ceremony in the Campidoglio on 18 April.

Rome Cup 2018 will also be an opportunity for Digilife Workout Strategy, a working session on the major issues of digital innovation in the life sciences, promoted by Lazio Innova for small and medium-sized enterprises, large companies, innovative start-ups, spin-offs, universities, research centres, hospitals, clinics, schools.

Not only that, a series of talks will be held for the students university orientation directly in contact with the teachers of Engineering UCBM which will show case studies, prototypes and interactive demos of Biomechatronics, Biorobotics, Medical Robotics, Neuroengineering and Technologies applied to Food.
