9th November 2021 - Among the students who have taken the course of Innovation and Digital Transformation with Dr. Francesco Cappa, of the Degree Course in Intelligent Systems Engineering of theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, the group of students Gaia Dobici and Francesca Ronci was among the 27 finalists of the call StartCup Lazio 2021,  Regional Business Plan Competition which rewards the best innovative start-up/spin-off projects from the regional scientific research system. The students designed and created the SmartPharma startups dedicated to facilitating the process of purchasing and using medicines.

The main services offered by SmarthPharma are:

  • create your own virtual medicine drawer by scanning the barcode on the medicine box
  • Delegate the purchasing process to the respective general practitioners
  • Send notifications about product expiration
  • Receive alerts on periodic purchases
  • Digitally access the package leaflet of medicines
  • Predict and simulate the annual deduction of medical expenses through an estimate of the actual reimbursement

The startup is also aimed at small pharmacies for which it is possible to create showcases and services with high technological value: digitize the booking of services and offer their products to an ever wider audience for a consequent growth of the reference market.

At the moment the students have received two awards: the LVenture Group special award which involves direct admission to the last selection phase of the startup acceleration path and the Equal Opportunity Award for the best social enterprise project with a view to equal opportunities.
