June 7, 2021 - Data architect, data engineer, data analyst or data scientist? They are figures that we hear more and more about and that the job market awaits with trepidation according to the Digital Skills Observatory, in a scenario where the pandemic has made the demand for digital transformation and innovation in the interaction processes between people and computerized and computerized systems. For this reason, in synergy with Unindustria in the Information Technology work table, theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma has started the master's degree course in Intelligent Systems Engineering since 2020: a path that combines IT skills with those relevant to production and services.
The goal is to prepare a computer engineer who is also oriented towards management aspects, one of the characteristics most sought after by companies. Intelligent Systems Engineering students study statistics, mathematical optimization, artificial intelligence, BigData analysis, architectures such as cloud computing, technologies or the use of sensors for data acquisition through physical parameters.
"The idea of being able to fulfill myself in a profession in which my curiosity and creativity are constantly challenged is the main reason why I chose to enroll in the master's degree in UCBM", says Gaia Dobici, enrolled in the first year, after the three-year course in medical engineering at Tor Vergata. In fact, most of the three-year courses in engineering allow access to the course designed for respond to the emerging and growing needs of processes characterized by digital technologies. Among these, also those related to renewable energies: indeed, there are collaborations on the horizon between UCBM and Acea and Enel for teaching and research programmes.
