Rome, 16 December 2021 - The Board of Directors of theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, which met on Wednesday 15 December 2021, proceeded with the appointment of the Board of Directors of “Campus Bio-Medico University Hospital Foundation” (in short “Policlinico Foundation UCBM
La Polyclinic Foundation UCBM, consisting of Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma and its promoting bodies, the Campus Bio-Medico Association and Campus Bio-Medico Spa, will take over the management of the Campus Bio-Medico University Hospital from 1 January 2022.
Members of the Board of Directors of Polyclinic Foundation UCBM will be Eng. Carlo Tosti (President), Atty. Fabio Angelini, Dr. Marco Ferlazzo, Dr Chiara Fiorani, Dr. Alessandro Pernigo, Dr. Stefano Piccaluga, Eng. Paolo Sormani. The Foundation's Board of Directors will remain in office for 3 years.
La Ucbm Polyclinic Foundation will continue the development of the Campus Bio-Medico University Hospital, maintaining its particular vocation in the areas of personal care, scientific research and innovation in the biomedical and healthcare fields, both clinical and translational. It will continue to act in close synergy with theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, in support of which it has operated since its birth in 1994, with the same unity of purpose and respect for the values that have always inspired its action, according to the inspiration of Blessed Alvaro del Portillo.
During the same meeting, the BoD of UCBM approved the new Statute of the University. The promoting bodies ofUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma they then designated the 6 members of the new Board of Directors of the University (which will come into force on 1 January 2022 and will remain in office for the next 3 years) in the figures of Dr. Chiara Fiorani, by Dr Sara Galluzzo, by Prof.ssa Cristina Masella, by Dr. Alessandro Pernigo, by Dr. Andrea Rossi, by Eng. Carlo Tosti. They join Prof. Raffaele Calabrò, Rector of the University, as such, member by right of the Board of Directors.
During the session, the President Felice Barela, recalling that the current Council will conclude its mandate on 31 December, sincerely thanked all the Councillors and Auditors for the good work carried out together which has allowed significant growth in these three and a half years of the University and the Polyclinic in all fields: training, curricular and post-graduate activities; research; clinical activity; third mission.
“Just think – he underlined Barela - the birth of a third faculty: "Sciences and Technologies for Man and the Environment" and new degree courses; the strengthening of continuing education activities; the launch of the DEA and the Hospice; the consolidation of relationships with institutions and companies, including INAIL and Confindustria, the many activities implemented to help fight COVID (Covid Center; Drive in; Vaccination Center), the construction of the new teaching building. All this while ensuring economic and financial stability, despite having to go through periods of particular uncertainty and complexity, strongly influenced by the pandemic with all that it has entailed from an economic and social point of view".
