To promote the culture of quality, innovation and sustainability in agriculture
16th November 2020 – The center of excellence of Birra Peroni, Peroni Campus, kicks off research projects with theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma to support the culture of quality and sustainability in agriculture and cereals. Starting this year, the students of the "Departmental Faculty of Science and Technology for Man and the Environment" - and the related Degree Courses in Food Science and Human Nutrition, Food Science and Technology and Management of Supply Chain - will be able to include field experiences, seminars, workshops in their training course, aimed at deepening processes and models of cultivation of barley for beer and deal with the management of a modern agro-food production chain.
With the entry of the Campus Bio-Medico University, Campus Peroni welcomes a new partner to "build a system" and strengthen research, development and technological innovation activities in agriculture. It will be thanks to the collaboration with actors (public and private) involved in the area, that it will be possible to create and disseminate the scientific knowledge essential to improve the quality of the products according to the principles of environmental sustainability.

Through this important partnership, Campus will continue to promote training initiatives dedicated both to the students of the universities involved and to the agricultural entrepreneurs of the Birra Peroni supply chain, in an increasingly efficient way, in order to improve the quality of raw materials such as malting barley. Only through collaboration with subjects involved in these areas - such as Universities and Research Institutes - we can win the challenge of innovating a sector in constant evolution and growth” - concludes Sannella.

From quality controls in laboratories and factories to the management of food companies and training in correct consumer nutrition. The comparison with the world of production on topical issues such as the relationship between food and health, circular economy, supply chains and climate change, helps the students of the study courses of the Departmental Faculty of Science and Technology for Man and the Environment to grasp the importance of a fundamental multidisciplinary training to identify new strategies for the sustainable development of highly complex systems" - he concludes De Gara.
