Homage concert three years after the death of the great composer Thursday 6 July – 20.30pm Via Àlvaro del Portillo, 21 - Rome
Rome 5 July 2023 - Ennio Morricone and Rome are now an inseparable combination. And his music, linked to legendary films, is part of our lives. Three years after his death, which occurred in the Campus Bio-Medico University Hospital, Fondazione Policlinico e Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma celebrate the great composer and his talent with the “Tribute to maestro Ennio Morricone”, a concert of Band of the State Police with the participation of the vocal ensemble “The Div4s” composed of four female sopranos. The journalist and television presenter will present the evening Paola saluzzi. The highest national and local authorities, the composer's family and many friends and collaborators of the Maestro will be present at the event.
Le immortal music by Ennio Morricone will be the protagonists of the evening which falls inanniversary of his death on July 6, 2020. The event is part of the program of initiatives linked to thirty years of the Bio-Medical Campus with which we celebrate the goals achieved and look towards the future. A path that has always placed the care and integral training of the person at the center with the motto "Science for man". Against the backdrop of one of the magical sunsets over the sea of Rome, the concert will start at 20.30 pm in the central square of the university, directed by Maurizio Billi.
The artists present, who have had the honor of collaborating with the maestro in the past, will pay homage to the public with a repertoire dedicated to the composer and conductor, one of a kind. The program includes music taken from some of the most famous film soundtracks composed by maestro Morricone such as “The Untouchables”, “Nuovo cinema cielo”, “Marco Polo”, “The legend of the pianist on the ocean”, “The good, the bad and the ugly”, “A fistful of dollars”, “Le professionnel”, “The Sicilian clan”, “Investigation into a citizen above all suspicion”, “The Tartar Desert” and many others.
The event aims to be a hymn to the value of the elderly e an opportunity to support scientific research of Fondazione Policlinico e Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma on pathologies related to old age. In fact, with the aging of the general population, degenerative pathologies of the musculoskeletal system are constantly increasing. The State Police Music Band for over 80 years it has been an important vehicle for disseminating music in Italy and abroad. Made up of 105 performers, it will perform in a reduced form, bringing 70 elements to the Campus stage, all coming from the most famous conservatories. The high artistic profile of its interpretations and the quality of the programs offered qualify the State Police Music Band among the best wind orchestras at an international level. The collaborations with internationally renowned artists such as Claudio Baglioni, Mariella Devia, Leon Bates, Stefano Bollani, Amii Stewart and other great singers are a testimony to the high level of quality achieved even in the most demanding performances.
Vocal Ensemble “Le Div4s” - Musical band composed of 4 sopranos already known for having accompanied Andrea Bocelli and have participated in numerous television programs. The group is a vocal ensemble and was born with the idea of spreading the excellence of Italian music through the search for an innovative language capable of involving a wider audience and not only fans of the classical genre. Their concert activity unfolds between collaborations with important artists on the world scene and participation in large events exploring varied audiences alongside famous international musicians such as Seal, Mick Hucknall of Simple Red, Nile Rodgers and Chic, James Blunt.
