Introduce yourself to the innovation fair promoted by Miur in Milan
7 May 2019 - Minimally invasively capture the aroma of a food product subjected to a seasoning process to then study its characteristics. Improve the functional and aesthetic performance of a scar using a customized sheath that prevents healing complications. These are the innovative aspects of the two Ucbm-branded devices presented at InnovAgorà, the patent fair hosted from 6 to 8 May at the National Museum of Science and Technology “Leonardo da Vinci” in Milan, in the presence of the Minister of Education, University and Research, Marco Bussetti.
Three days of exhibition and presentation to the public of 170 patented technologies, divided into seven thematic areas and selected among the 400 most promising results of 49 universities and 12 research institutions, with the aim of promoting their transfer and enhancement in the entrepreneurial fabric of the Village.
The first patent ofUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, presented by prof. Giorgio Pennazza at the innovation fair promoted by the MIUR and organized by the CNR, is the Sampling device for food products, created by the collaboration between theElectronics for sensory systems research unit el 'Research Unit of Food and Nutrition Sciences. The equipment allows the aroma of a foodstuff to be captured and stored in a chamber called a "Flute" to then be transferred into any instrument for subsequent analysis. Experimentation on 170 hams followed over a period of 440 days made it possible to identify the seasoning period with a maximum error of 17 days and to distinguish the origin of the product.
Representing the interdisciplinary group of inventors led by prof. Paolo Persichetti (Research Unit of Plastic Surgery and Dermatology) and by Prof Simonetta Filippi (Research Unit of Nonlinear Physics and Mathematical Models), dr. Giovanni Marangi present at the first edition of InnovAgorà il Gradual compression biomedical device for the support and optimization of the skin scar. The patent concerns the development of an innovative customized sheath that can be adapted to different parts of the body which, by exerting gradual compression, optimizes the post-surgery healing process, preventing complications.
InnovAgorà aims to encourage the introduction of technologies with a strong innovative impact into society: the aim of the Miur is to make it an annual appointment that acts as a tool for understanding and enhancing the best Italian research.
