A multi-technological pole that brings together Universities of Rome and Lazio, research institutions and companies to promote research, training and innovation on energy transition, digital transition, health
June 16, 2022 - L'Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma has become part of the Rome Technopole Foundation which was formally established on 8 June. A multi-technological hub for teaching, research and technology transfer which brings together universities of Rome and Lazio, public research bodies, local institutions and businesses to feed the research, training and innovation chain in synergy with the business world, within three high priority thematic guidelines for Lazio: the energy transition, the digital transition and the sectors related to biopharma and health.
Making use of the resources allocated to the PNRR for the area of ecosystems for innovation, the Rome Technopole has among its specific objectives that of increasing the number of master's graduates in strategic sectors, enhancing synergy with regional and national companies, increasing the number of patents, promote start-ups, increase the attractiveness of the regional training and research system, attract large companies, young people and investors to the area.
In particular, in the Rome Technopole project proposal, our University will carry out activities dedicated to the energy transition, health and biopharmaceuticals ranging from the creation of innovative laboratories Joint Lab 4.0 for C02 capture, robotics, bionics, design and testing of drugs and new therapies, to the production of bioactive molecules for nutraceuticals and cosmeceuticals, up to the development of phygital environments e business incubation.
The foundation ceremony was attended by the Pro Rector for Research prof. Eugenio Guglielmelli, together with the rectors and representatives of Sapienza University of Rome, public entity proposing the Technopole-Innovation Ecosystem project, the Universities of Tor Vergata, Roma Tre, Luiss, Tuscia, Cassino, in addition to the President of the Lazio Region, the Mayor of Rome, the President of Unindustria, the representatives of 4 national research institutions (CNR, Enea, INFN and ISS), of Inail, representatives of the companies based in the Lazio, as well as the Chambers of Commerce.
