Luca Testarelli appointed president of the degree program in dentistry and dental prosthetics

Rome, April 1, 2026 – Not just a formal update, but a choice of identity and positioning that redefines the scope of healthcare education. The Board of Directors of the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome has approved the name change of its departmental faculty to “Medicine, Surgery and Dentistry”, marking an evolution consistent with the changing demand for skills in the healthcare sector and with an increasingly integrated vision of care.

The move is part of a broader development strategy aimed at addressing the emerging needs of the healthcare system and related sectors, particularly in highly specialized segments such as advanced dentistry, biomechanics, and technologies applied to clinical practice. From this perspective, the name change represents a strategic choice that strengthens the University's identity, clarifying its positioning and increasing its appeal to students, partners, and stakeholders.

At the same time, the Board of Directors appointed as president of the Degree Course in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics Luca Testarelli, Professor of Odontostomatological Diseases, with extensive clinical and academic experience, including at Sapienza University of Rome and the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Campus Bio-Medico. This appointment further strengthens the program's credibility and positioning in a rapidly evolving field.

The program, which began in 2024, maintains its six-year, single-cycle structure for 360 credits (ECTS), but consolidates its multidisciplinary focus through innovative, immersive teaching and integration with cutting-edge simulation technologies. This training model is designed to reduce the misalignment between academia and the world of work, encouraging graduates to enter healthcare professions more quickly and with greater qualifications, both in private practice and within organized structures.

Commenting on the decision, the Rector Prof. Rocco Papalia He emphasized how Testarelli's leadership represents "a moment of great significance" for the University, in line with its goal of training highly qualified professionals ready to face the challenges of the contemporary healthcare system.

The Principal is on the same line Bruno Vincenzi, which framed the name change as a key step in the University's growth path, increasingly oriented towards immersive, international education, and connected to the dynamics of the manufacturing world.

In this context, the valorization of dentistry responds not only to market logic, but reflects a deeper evolution of medical training, which integrates skills and disciplines to respond more effectively to people's health needs.

With this acquisition, the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome confirms a development trajectory that combines academic quality, innovation, and educational responsibility, consolidating its role in the national university landscape.
