Rome, June 24 2025 – The Board of Directors of theCampus Bio-Medico University From Rome (UCBM) he named the Prof. Rocco Papalia new Rector of the University. Prof. Papalia will officially take office on 1 November 2025, taking over from Prof. Eugenio Guglielmelli, who will continue to carry out his duties until October 31, 2025, the end date of his three-year mandate.

Among the first graduates of theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, the professor. Rocco Papalia He has built a solid and authentic relationship with the University that has lasted over 25 years. He graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery in 2001 and continued his training in the same academic environment, obtaining the Specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology, Ph.D and a Master in Healthcare EntrepreneurshipA journey that demonstrates a deep and ongoing bond with the institution, founded on shared values and a common vision.
With a solid, broad and qualified clinical experience as an orthopedic surgeon and traumatologist, Prof. Papalia has progressively taken on roles of increasing responsibility, demonstrating an institutional trust consolidated over time: in 2015 he was appointed Director of the School of Specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology; from 2016 runs theComplex Operating Unit of Orthopedics and Traumatology and the relative Research Units; from 2022 is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Policlinico Universitario Foundation; and from 2023 is the Scientific Director of training activities of the Simulation Center.
On the scientific level, Prof. Papalia boasts over 300 publications, numerous contributions in international volumes and participation as a speaker in conferences of global importance. He has held the role of Principal Investigator and clinical manager in several national and international research projects admitted to funding on the basis of competitive calls.
Recognized by the scientific community for his contribution to orthopedics, he has received numerous Academic Awards e international scientific awards and has carried out Fellowship in centers of excellence in Europe, South America and the United States. He holds various scientific coordination roles in national and international Societies and journals in the sector, including vice president of the Italian Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology and Editor in Chief of the journal JOINTS.
