The competition is sponsored by the UCBM IEEE Student Branch and IEEE Sensors Council Italy Chapter

25 May 2021 - Saturday 29 May 2021 will be held at theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma la Wearable Challenge, the challenge of the third year students of the Degree Course IngIndustrial engineering UCBM, with the aim of designing and building a wearable system able to monitor physiological parameters or movements of articular joints

9 teams will be the protagonists of the event, made up of 5 or 6 students: each team, thanks to a budget made available by the University, will have to present their own wearable system project for monitoring respiratory activity, posture, neck, shoulder and fingers. The developed works will be evaluated by a commission made up of experts in the sector and by Andrea Rossi, General manager UCBM, based on the following criteria:

  1. Wearability of the device;
  2. Device performance;
  3. Originality of the proposed solution;
  4. Presentation of the work performed.

The first three classified will participate in an international event organized by IEEE, L 'Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the world's largest organization for the advancement of technology in the field ofingelectrical and computer engineering. Since 2018 around 50 doctoral students of Ingengineering ofUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, busy with research and involved in organizing webinars and online lessons to discover the applied side of research, are part of the Italy section of the IEEE with UCBM student branch. The Wearable Challenge is in fact sponsored by the IEEE Student Branch UCBM and by the Italian Chapter of the IEEE Sensors Council.
