On the podium two Ucbm projects

8 June 2020 - Around 50 university students and PhD students divided into 12 groups competed live online on June 4 to create the best wearable system within the challenges created and promoted by the IEEE Student Branch ofUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma.

The first place was conquered by the "Polimi MT" team of the Politecnico di Milano. Davide Paloschi, Sanzhar Korganbayev, Fabio Conti and Stefano Marelli – supervised by the professor Paola Saccomandi - they won 300 euros for the creation of a project that evaluates the posture of the wearer and provides feedback in case of incorrect posture.

Second place for the group UCBM “Shoulder Teams”. Presenting a wearable system for monitoring the movements of the shoulder on swimmers were Susanna Bianchi, Aurora Silanos, Francesca Virgili, Naomi Rando, Lorenza Biancolillo, Giorgia Pomarico, to whom 200 euros went.

They are students ofUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma also Paolo Marcelli, Francesco Marra, Marialuisa Lusito, Andrea Tognetti and Flavio Topani, members of the "Knee Wearable Device" team. They won third place and 100 euros for the design of a wearable system for monitoring knee movements aimed at optimizing the rehabilitation process.

The Wearable Device commission awarded the products live based on the criteria of wearability, performance, innovation and presentation of the project.
