For the supervision and control of food safety
On Tuesday 12 September a delegation fromIILA, International Italian-Latin American Organization, formed by the general secretary Antonella Cavallari, by the executive director Gianandrea Rossi and by the head of the Italian Cooperation Service, Mauro Camicia, visited theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, welcomed by the Rector prof. Eugenio Guglielmelli, by the CEO and DG dr. Andrea Rossi and from prof Marcella Trombetta, Dean of the Departmental Faculty of Sciences and Technologies for Sustainable Development and One Health.
A collaboration agreement on health issues was signed between the two institutions food safety. Thanks to "Cooperation program for the supervision and control of food safety", it was possible to create fruitful interactions between researchers, Italian and Latin American experts to explore priority issues for the food protection and handling e support small and medium-sized businesses in the Latin American agri-food system strengthening their management capabilities of health/food surveillance systems.
This important program aimed at the Mercosur countries made use of the best Italian professionals in the sector: UCBM, Carabinieri Command for Health Protection NAS, Coldiretti and achievement Ministry of Health. The general secretary of the IILA, Antonella Cavallari, took the opportunity to confirm to the Rector Guglielmelli the full availability of the Institution to continue the current type of collaboration, which is part of the constant work of supporting the "internationalization" of Italian excellence in the most varied sectors, but also to disseminate the possibilities for the inclusion of Latin American students and researchers at the University, as well as involving teachers UCBM in new training activities aimed at Latin American countries.
