Annamaria Altomare

Biography

He obtained his classical high school diploma in the year 2000.

From September 2004 to September 2005 he carried out an internship at the Oncology department of the University "Campus Bio-Medico of Rome". In September 2006 she began attending the Gastroenterology department of the same hospital.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University "Campus Bio Medico" of Rome in the first graduation session of the 2006/2007 academic year, carrying out the thesis entitled "Functional alterations of smooth muscle cells of the human colon after acute exposure of the mucosa to pathogenic lipopolysaccharide: role of inflammation and oxidative stress”, supervisor Prof. M. Cicala, with vote 110/110 cum laude.

From 2007 to 2011 he attended the specialization school in Gastroenterology at theUniversità Campus Bio-medico di Roma, director Prof. Michele Cicala, conferring the title of Specialist in Gastroenterology on 14 September 2011, with a score of 70/70 and honours.

He obtained a PhD in biochemical and technological sciences applied to food and nutrition at theUniversità Campus Bio-medico di Roma (XXVII cycle year 2012) with discussion of the thesis on 27 April 2015, entitled "Functional alterations of the smooth muscles of the human colon: effect of the modulation of the intestinal microbiota".

She received a Research Grant from 01/02/2016 to 31/01/2017 at the Campus Biomedico University of Rome for carrying out a research project entitled "Use of gut on chip multicellular technology in the prevention of drug toxicity pro-oxidant substances. An integrated, experimental and mathematical modeling approach”.
