Francesco Basoli

Biography

Born in Rome in 1977, he obtained a degree in Materials Engineering from the University of Rome "La Sapienza", a Master of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Florida and a PhD in Materials for the 'Environment and Energy at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata".

Since 2022 he has been a TD University Researcher, pursuant to art. 24, paragraph 3, letter b) of Law 240/2010, for the competitive sector 09/D1 - Materials Science and Technology - scientific-disciplinary sector ING- IND/22 - Materials Science and Technology, at the Departmental Faculty of Engineering of theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma.

His research activity is mainly aimed at the synthesis and characterization of innovative bioactive nanoparticles and bio-mimetic biomaterials, at the fabrication and characterization of non-woven woven fibers by electrospinning techniques for tissue engineering, for antimicrobial applications and in the sensor field. Furthermore, he has been involved in the development of innovative techniques for the fabrication of engineered constructs exploiting both additive manufacturing techniques and microfluidic or micro-fabrication systems. Within these activities he has participated in numerous research projects both at national and international level. He is the author of more than 45 papers in journals with impact factor.
