Associate professor

Biography

Francesco Conte He is an Associate Professor of Electrical Power Systems at the Department of Engineering, Campus Bio-Medico, Rome. He is a senior member of the IEEE, a member of the IEEE Power & Energy Society, a member of the University Group on Electrical Power Systems (GUSEE) for the IIND-08/B SSD, and an associate member of the Genoa unit of the National Interuniversity Consortium for Energy and Electrical Systems (ENSIEL). He has authored over 100 publications in international journals and international conference proceedings. His research focuses on the provision of regulation services to the electricity grid operated by renewable generation sources, electrical loads, and storage systems, the intelligent management of microgrids and energy communities, the identification of equivalent models for portions of electricity distribution networks, fault detection and localization in distribution networks, and the optimal design and control of multi-energy hubs.

Curriculum

He received his Master's degree in Computer Science and Control Engineering in 2009 and his PhD in Electrical and Information Engineering in 2013, both from the University of L'Aquila. From 2013 to 2021, he was a Research Fellow and then a Research Assistant (RTD-A) at the Department of Naval, Electrical, Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering (DITEN) of the University of Genoa. In 2009, he was a visiting student at the National Institute for Computer and Automation Research (INRIA Rhone-Alpes) in Grenoble, France. In 2025, he received the National Scientific Qualification for Full Professorship, in the Competition Sector 09/E2 Electrical Energy Engineering, SSD IIND-08/B Electrical Systems for Energy.
