Research line
The training and technical and scientific skills acquired in the field of electronics and necessary for the creation and use of modern communication and information technologies together with the subsequent doctorate course on sensory systems, have allowed the development of a line of research multidisciplinary in which electronics is the scientific component useful for the design, development and testing of sensors and sensory systems aimed at applications in the health, food, environmental and industrial fields.
In particular, the contribution provided in the activated scientific collaborations concerns the conception, design and construction of devices, sensor systems and electronic interfaces on the basis of the analysis of the specifications set by the applications themselves and consequent to the theoretical and experimental study of the physical principles and state-of-the-art technologies related to the field of interest of the application in question; obviously, these preliminary activities, before application in the field, are followed by the characterization and testing by means of performance and reliability measurements of the designed objects.
The scientific production of these activities is found in fact in the publication of works concerning above all the testing and calibration of the systems created, the testing and application in the field of the interface devices necessary for the interaction of the measurement systems with samples of biology and the results of specific applications in the medical, food and industrial fields.
The competences of the scientific sector to which the present line of research is based are those relating to: circuits, microcircuits, sensors, actuators and microsystems, electronic instrumentation.
He has participated and participates, in several cases also as coordinator and/or manager, in dozens of research projects and scientific collaborations with universities, research centers and Italian and international companies.
He holds 4 patents in the biomedical and food fields
