Specialized pro-resolving lipid mediators as a new therapeutic strategy in the resolution of the adaptive immune response in multiple sclerosis

Project objectives

The project aims to study the ability of some specialized pro-resolving lipids, such as resolvin D1, resolvin D2 and maresin 1, to restore the altered balance between regulatory T cells and effector T cells obtained from patients with multiple sclerosis, studying the ability of these molecules to modulate both the inflammatory function of these cells involved in the pathogenesis of the disease and their ability to be generated from their stem cell precursors.
